Hello everyone! Can ya'll believe that this year is about to be over? I find it so hard to believe but it is true what they say, time sure does fly when you are having fun. So last year I wanted to make our own ugly Christmas sweaters but by the time I convinced the Mr. to do it with me it was way too late and we were already heading to TX for Christmas. I ended up buying some ugly sweaters that I found at the home improvement store out of all places. This year I had plenty of time and my creativity sure did run wild. Keep reading to see what I did. I feel like I have been planning this for the last year. I looked and looked everywhere to get ideas and we both finally decided between ugly, cute, tacky and funny sweaters. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought us black pull over sweaters at Wal-Mart and they were about 7 bucks a piece. I had somewhat of a plan when I walked into Hobby Lobby for the rest of the materials, but then I saw all of the cute stuff and my mind went blank. Then I ran into this little guy....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-pOeWJYcbsdfwO7YRDl8VFdRfKMRBqneQl-v-ImDlAWFngvVdbPofYbw5qKpznBmzxktNA5RfF5v6j-ZAVejGIcaNctbV4RtcX3lnHkbfQU1g1QmOak7ZbmKuXlF_QSEnfwQ3h8tqBAH8/s1600/a8ed5e3f-0468-40a0-bce4-e13db4bd0174.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-pOeWJYcbsdfwO7YRDl8VFdRfKMRBqneQl-v-ImDlAWFngvVdbPofYbw5qKpznBmzxktNA5RfF5v6j-ZAVejGIcaNctbV4RtcX3lnHkbfQU1g1QmOak7ZbmKuXlF_QSEnfwQ3h8tqBAH8/s320/a8ed5e3f-0468-40a0-bce4-e13db4bd0174.png" width="226" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And It was all over from here. I was so inspired by him and it went perfectly with the "elf" theme that we were going for that I started gathering stuff to try to make something resembling this cute little guy. I ended up spending $21 on materials by the time I was done. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hobby Lobby has these felt packages and let me tell you, I had so much material left over that I could have made about 36 more sweaters. As you can see I ended up buying fabric glue bit I used it for about a full minute before I gave up and decided to just go with a hot glue gun. Please use a hot glue gun. I could not find single plastic candy canes in the whole entire store so I just went with some pipe cleaners and then for the buttons I used gold little pom-pom's. The three pieces of fabric on the left hand side were about 50 cents, the fabric department lady told me that they are cut in the smallest size that they can cut it. So here we go. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsTrz_HCanGjCo6UO1B_epIJFF_X5Ucn2zRdUSW9w6DGRGV7XJtCkyiIxeSGwZwgbwjQz9D2NKx6z94BNCXkYoyTBTUuBwWYRhqb8h4MhoeUHWor-9gE4VlnDzXRsclYXwqUzvgHFzaLFK/s1600/IMG_9055.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsTrz_HCanGjCo6UO1B_epIJFF_X5Ucn2zRdUSW9w6DGRGV7XJtCkyiIxeSGwZwgbwjQz9D2NKx6z94BNCXkYoyTBTUuBwWYRhqb8h4MhoeUHWor-9gE4VlnDzXRsclYXwqUzvgHFzaLFK/s320/IMG_9055.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I suggest getting some notebook paper and cutting out the shape that you want and put it on the sweater before you actually start cutting the felt material. Once I got the size and shape down, I traced the notebook paper onto the felt and then cut it out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkwC5uScYNTd9l6_Xl5i2bQOzL9Hfd43pNqKTEDm-h4zqnVZ7J6DbG6Vvp3IQRGXhJqMr4e4e3DvWNArBZAk7LlcER1s0xqPz1fmyeJ6RwuZcoih3m63l9u1tR1SS2GFzyocy5uMqs776q/s1600/IMG_9056.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkwC5uScYNTd9l6_Xl5i2bQOzL9Hfd43pNqKTEDm-h4zqnVZ7J6DbG6Vvp3IQRGXhJqMr4e4e3DvWNArBZAk7LlcER1s0xqPz1fmyeJ6RwuZcoih3m63l9u1tR1SS2GFzyocy5uMqs776q/s320/IMG_9056.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When it came down to gluing it on the sweater I put it down backwards so the pen marks from the tracing would not show. Also, I assembled most of the little elf before I actually glued it down on the sweater. It gives you a little wiggle room if you make mistakes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUSeC4NRfqdc_D_yY14gc5IZXgV48W_l_lO-GkQQmlFHheLkDWZovMYEGOcOQTSV_8td-IH1WJME_7cUeLZMhbwkglgV5KdR5mn-UfI1Djw8_HX2szSbXiyZfjp9zGlDjql2QDubv2yK2K/s1600/IMG_9058.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUSeC4NRfqdc_D_yY14gc5IZXgV48W_l_lO-GkQQmlFHheLkDWZovMYEGOcOQTSV_8td-IH1WJME_7cUeLZMhbwkglgV5KdR5mn-UfI1Djw8_HX2szSbXiyZfjp9zGlDjql2QDubv2yK2K/s320/IMG_9058.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted to make my elf a little more girly of course, so I added a sparkly skirt. I added a strip of hot glue and then just bunched up the tulle to make it look a little ruffled. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA_zueBOWUV1j5Eiz-45P67N_F47Ii8md-gf0Epv0GNkrY759D4mcGVsGiQCti338KyEZBDSwn7yrPIL5mhHwbdo45H1O_U7qP9ceOthUDBQCkBqAzTSTBl0ixWjShfB0P47Dm2q-9PCsH/s1600/IMG_9061.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA_zueBOWUV1j5Eiz-45P67N_F47Ii8md-gf0Epv0GNkrY759D4mcGVsGiQCti338KyEZBDSwn7yrPIL5mhHwbdo45H1O_U7qP9ceOthUDBQCkBqAzTSTBl0ixWjShfB0P47Dm2q-9PCsH/s320/IMG_9061.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I added the little stockings ON TOP of the skirt because obviously you would wear a skirt over stockings and not under lol. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I could not find a material similar to what the little elf had but this one was just as cute. All I did was fold it in half twice and cut it enough so that I could glue it to the back part of the dress so there would not be any fraying. After I measured it, I took a pipe cleaner, cut it in half since it was a bit long and just curved it like a candy cane and glued it to the inside of the belt and glued everything together. I added a gold pom-pom as a little belt buckle. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNNV15XImHjnkxd_h8G0Vej23ECZLOWDPbmd1WH5aPxPls4f4meeAkeWFCw_7eXqfz_LHwt55doP4jyWD_-SHx_CMpoG9tmwlgLBAj1iFaiQ-z9QZWWgFP4xJ4pAuOqt_CVPzp3XK1GoZs/s1600/IMG_9064.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNNV15XImHjnkxd_h8G0Vej23ECZLOWDPbmd1WH5aPxPls4f4meeAkeWFCw_7eXqfz_LHwt55doP4jyWD_-SHx_CMpoG9tmwlgLBAj1iFaiQ-z9QZWWgFP4xJ4pAuOqt_CVPzp3XK1GoZs/s320/IMG_9064.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut the stockings so they could be the same length and cut out pointy elf shoes. Really I just traced one and used the outline for the other so they could look even. I cut the little socks in a triangle pattern like the collar and secured it with hot glue to the shoes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCKVYhLAXbD9iFexi9rxS5IjGe1H0t1rEpFAMRJPr1nycDGBARkokY72IqPHGDe2clNlBV0fWBF8sF0aFqYqkOcPAO0UEcsSymKZyyTWGhfGbKHqqwbVpR1dw1L_UzaFXwsX4b2XjqJ1oE/s1600/IMG_9066.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCKVYhLAXbD9iFexi9rxS5IjGe1H0t1rEpFAMRJPr1nycDGBARkokY72IqPHGDe2clNlBV0fWBF8sF0aFqYqkOcPAO0UEcsSymKZyyTWGhfGbKHqqwbVpR1dw1L_UzaFXwsX4b2XjqJ1oE/s320/IMG_9066.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I glued the entire elf to the sweater and added the collar at the very end. I also glued little jingle bells to each of the triangles. The pom-pom's were added to make little buttons and also at the end of the shoes. I found Christmas type stickers and added them to the sides. What is an elf without a tree and presents right?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was not going to put arms on it, but realized it looked kind of weird. I cut out a "boomerang" type shape from the same fabric as the stockings and just glued it down. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did the same exact thing for the "boy" elf. I just gave him a "candy" belly and some shorts. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope ya'll enjoyed my post and hopefully it inspires you to make some cute sweaters as well. </div>

Thank you for stopping by. </div>

Hello! I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween this year. This has got to be one of my top 3 Holidays out of the year for sure. A day where you can wear something really out there and not care if you looked like you escaped from the loony bin. I am the person that tries to go all out. My boyfriend...not so much. Good thing is, he will agree with me and let me go crazy as long as he gets the bare minimum, yay for compromise. We had so many good ideas and at the end of the day while looking through, of course, Pinterest, we thought it would be so fun ( I was so naive) to be "the pinata couple" we did not know what else to call ourselves. So if you are interested or would like some ideas for next year, keep on reading.</div>
<div>
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="text-align: center;">I went to the dollar store and bought 9 packets of the assorted tissue paper sheets. I did not know how many I was going to be needing and when it was all said and done I only ended up using 3 packets. </span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7ZbHWM8gS4sfdP9Nd3OMPUfGck7t6B0msyjUP7K-GkiUcrjFpXu8Ok_TSwL-u56Aphzcu8DOZvVDvq2GF1DrWgRMAywWdhUi7P1qUaWMZ_yATc-H301VO4ZNPw5G9pBzS6PBeg6SHFgjS/s1600/IMG_9034.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7ZbHWM8gS4sfdP9Nd3OMPUfGck7t6B0msyjUP7K-GkiUcrjFpXu8Ok_TSwL-u56Aphzcu8DOZvVDvq2GF1DrWgRMAywWdhUi7P1qUaWMZ_yATc-H301VO4ZNPw5G9pBzS6PBeg6SHFgjS/s320/IMG_9034.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When I opened the paper up, there where 2 of each color and instead of separating them,to make my life easier all I did was cut along the folds it already had.one color pair at a time. To me, it was a very wide piece of paper so I folded it in half. You can of course make it as thick or as small as you want. I wanted lots of color and fringe so I went for the smaller route.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After you fold it in half to get a small width, you are going to keep folding it length wise until you end up with about a 1 inch square. This makes it so much easier when it comes time to cut the fringe. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1jgQM7rUOQysbWr9wWxoGrfDeLVilE72cj2e5b_G5iSEru-9fihAsU6_-hkk6G4eTpP0SRp559b8XwFAVVohi7GkbOxEAYmp2AsTJuAmQz192IZx3PXFfnRkW3rmxnbSkSVMy5-_fkG1z/s1600/unnamed+%25284%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1jgQM7rUOQysbWr9wWxoGrfDeLVilE72cj2e5b_G5iSEru-9fihAsU6_-hkk6G4eTpP0SRp559b8XwFAVVohi7GkbOxEAYmp2AsTJuAmQz192IZx3PXFfnRkW3rmxnbSkSVMy5-_fkG1z/s320/unnamed+%25284%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next just grab your scissors and go to town on cutting little strips on the "free side", not the side that is still folded when we made the wide piece smaller. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0PnjVUpWi1Mu-3B0nfTzHjp1OiqylHVKTjWsRoi-wB0bIE5Rm7s4qCNwK0ujxRoev-tUj4dj5p2mwzaExQxlcOMX8FpbSzdt7d4zF-hYYFk3V9c7Da_qTM59YTLFm-k_S3TuJCLcZufu/s1600/unnamed+%25285%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0PnjVUpWi1Mu-3B0nfTzHjp1OiqylHVKTjWsRoi-wB0bIE5Rm7s4qCNwK0ujxRoev-tUj4dj5p2mwzaExQxlcOMX8FpbSzdt7d4zF-hYYFk3V9c7Da_qTM59YTLFm-k_S3TuJCLcZufu/s320/unnamed+%25285%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And that's it. Just sit down, grab some wine and put on something good to watch because this might take a bit. When you open it back up, you should have two similar pieces of what ever color you choose to make your costume. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So first I knew that I wanted a long sleeve dress because after all we do live in Ohio and it gets chilly. You'll find out soon enough that the sleeves went out the window very quickly. We went to the thrift store to try to find him a poncho, a sombrero and a dress for me. Please don't use a dress you plan on wearing again because trust me there is no coming back. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeexPYGViED-gADIInEywJ4kg5FJxlLr7I3j1jobh3b4UyDaxhFUaDG8-E3d1R2EMJ-yTiBMj4bXa_CSgJvn_t8Lg-EaMSqaQgGsZYnxtTCR7jOEwshOJ7y0GaDjHCQ3q2TzL8Ery5Fpz4/s1600/IMG_9040.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeexPYGViED-gADIInEywJ4kg5FJxlLr7I3j1jobh3b4UyDaxhFUaDG8-E3d1R2EMJ-yTiBMj4bXa_CSgJvn_t8Lg-EaMSqaQgGsZYnxtTCR7jOEwshOJ7y0GaDjHCQ3q2TzL8Ery5Fpz4/s320/IMG_9040.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I found this pretty little gem! I figured the ruffles it already had would give the final product more bounce, and it did for the most part. You are going to want to put a big piece of cardboard inside or something to stretch the dress out. If you don't stretch it first, you are going to be gluing the tissue paper as is and when it comes time to put it on it will break or you will notice that it has a lot of gaps where the material stretched.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4qJYTyWnyNLZVpfRuewIDuiXKxBWvbgrsW4xCNfMeC6jGeGEjPLI9PGpSiNBaJ9asXivWrRHMPie45Nu-feS-Qx3eFwGJ9ILfXts9HlSRhNy_UZSOoUdW02sdZlS8bN7Q2D2JQr_m3feO/s1600/IMG_9036.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4qJYTyWnyNLZVpfRuewIDuiXKxBWvbgrsW4xCNfMeC6jGeGEjPLI9PGpSiNBaJ9asXivWrRHMPie45Nu-feS-Qx3eFwGJ9ILfXts9HlSRhNy_UZSOoUdW02sdZlS8bN7Q2D2JQr_m3feO/s320/IMG_9036.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used spray adhesive because it is what I had handy. It did its job but I would not recommend it. The strips stayed on the dress but if even a little corner came off the whole strip followed. I ended up using fabric glue only for the pieces that started falling apart, which wasn't that many but I am sure I could have avoided this if I had used fabric glue in the first place. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjnMAocCb27SS8aWKOjOAiG_oJk03EVSL2-35KOlpNPYCYiO5Wn-ocBPdKdUuAfYnVT8vfOQ7avcEt_ax_eF1st99T3MOv9aTa09h1vH_Rfv_DEy_ukgEBi6UOdRC1KUjaZM9xCdgJTSIJ/s1600/IMG_9041.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjnMAocCb27SS8aWKOjOAiG_oJk03EVSL2-35KOlpNPYCYiO5Wn-ocBPdKdUuAfYnVT8vfOQ7avcEt_ax_eF1st99T3MOv9aTa09h1vH_Rfv_DEy_ukgEBi6UOdRC1KUjaZM9xCdgJTSIJ/s320/IMG_9041.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Starting from the bottom I sprayed an entire section and started to attach my strip. To get more of a "pinata" effect stack the strips where the other ends not just directly on top of each other.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPTL_qvSE0K_s1k14qWh5INXZlU6YsWwrdWaAuDygUmmLSJVFaZeLkgmf8r-WpNL5SzQZLxZ47pTa3k0f2DXzT_lFk1Y8KtEeNYQ8D27pMR8Yow_835gImJn2x4DaUHfUZETOJMxZP-mWg/s1600/IMG_9045.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPTL_qvSE0K_s1k14qWh5INXZlU6YsWwrdWaAuDygUmmLSJVFaZeLkgmf8r-WpNL5SzQZLxZ47pTa3k0f2DXzT_lFk1Y8KtEeNYQ8D27pMR8Yow_835gImJn2x4DaUHfUZETOJMxZP-mWg/s320/IMG_9045.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just kept repeating the process all the way up to the top. When I got to the top instead of doing thick stripes of color started stacking the color strips 2 at a time following the same color pattern as I was doing at the bottom of the dress. I did not take a picture but to work around the neck line, just glue the strip down and leave some extra. When you are all done just trim off the excess and cut along your dress neck line. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Most of the costumes that I saw online had some sort of party hat head piece. I don't know about you but I do not find party hats to be very comfortable. Since I was already at the dollar store I bought one of those stick on ribbons that you would but on a present. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just took the backing off and stuck it to an old headband of mine and there you have it, a headpiece. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
By the time I finished the dress, I was so over tissue paper that I just ended up cutting the sleeves. I loved it so much better this way. When I put on the dress there were some gaps in the hip area where I had not stretched it enough so all I did was take some leftover corresponding color, cut it to the size of the gap and just stuck it on with glue. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We got so many compliments on this costume and it was so much fun. Since the Mr. wanted the bare minimum, all I did was buy a fringe blanket at the thrift store and cut a hole for his head. I used my broom stick and did the same thing I did with the dress with the leftover tissue paper and bought him a sombrero at the costume store. I was a little chilly that night so I went to Hot Topic and bought some colorful socks. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So I decided to do something new on this blog and throw in some OOTD. I follow many blogs and sometimes I can't help but think, where the heck do you wear these things to? But to each their own. I know there is fashion week but don't know much after that. <br />
<div>
As for me, I am a regular girl, living a pretty normal life and only dress up when I really need to do something. 80% of the time I am at school living in yoga pants(minus the yoga). So here it goes. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I bought this military vest YEARS ago at this store called <a href="https://www.papayaclothing.com/" target="_blank">Papaya</a> in Houston and I fell in love with it the minute I saw it. It is green and studded?! Hello, this has me written all over it. I uploaded 2 pictures because I wanted to show how this can be worn in a variety of ways. Excuse the quality of the pictures, they will get better I promise. I just happen to remember to snap a pic as I am about to walk out the door. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJdfJHIty4UjUuS1l5eFlqN9lrlZ5NyVG-rxitlX0KTI1Zf3KvcrCqVyoclDldgwv8XMZx0vi0PFey9b3YrPvwijnXeDtfjRiAXiEOUkENCjqKpDdPbDmwqE9lSdjEgpoP3FNmWMxQYDpP/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJdfJHIty4UjUuS1l5eFlqN9lrlZ5NyVG-rxitlX0KTI1Zf3KvcrCqVyoclDldgwv8XMZx0vi0PFey9b3YrPvwijnXeDtfjRiAXiEOUkENCjqKpDdPbDmwqE9lSdjEgpoP3FNmWMxQYDpP/s400/1.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These have got to be the most perfect jeans for short people like me. I got these at Target last winter on sale. They are supposed to be "ankle" jeans but for someone like me, with short legs, they are the perfect length. I wore this casual look for a movie date with my love. I wanted to look put together but comfy and casual at the same time. Let's talk about my weakness, shoes! I got these at Nordstrom Rack about 2 years ago. They are entirely suede on the outside, wedged and the cutest most comfy shoes I have ever worn. I find that I wear these with EVERYTHING and they still look amazing. It will be a sad day when these things go bad.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is from yesterday, the hun and I just wanted to do some sight seeing in Detroit, have a nice dinner and maybe some shopping. This outfit managed to keep me comfy and looking nice the whole time. These jeans really surprised me, they are so light and very well fitting. Of course I had to get them hemmed like all my other jeans but it is just something I am used to. We live in a small town in Ohio (small for my standards since I am from Houston) so I beggars can't be choosers as far as shopping goes.</div>

I wear my vest as a neutral. I have worn this thing with many different outfits. It is perfect and goes with everything. I highly suggest investing in one. Let me know if ya'll like post like this so I can keep doing them. Of course the pictures will get better.</div>

Hello everyone! So for the longest time I have been wanting a mint green desk. I wanted something fun and shiny so I went for it. I am new at this whole thing and I usually stain things or just paint it either white or black so this was pretty fun. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought this desk because I went on a whim and decided I needed a study area. Let's just say it turned into a folding table for laundry.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is after one coat of primer. Usually, when I do a project I sand the piece before I start messing with it. This not only was my first colorful project but my first non-sanding project since the piece is laminate. I got brave, the internet said I could do it and of course we all know the internet does not lie (see what I did there? ha!) For the most part, not sanding it first was not that bad, but it did get a little worse. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Excuse the bad cell phone pictures but my camera totally gave out on me. It took about 3 coats of paint to achieve the color I wanted and I am in love. I kept the hardware because I was really in love with it, all I did was paint it gold with some spray paint I bought at the dollar store. </div>

I sealed it with regular poly because I am not going to lie, if you even rubbed it hard enough the paint would chip a little. I have had it for about a month now and it has really held up. No chips or scratches to report and it has now been upgraded from a folding table to an over sized coffee table. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was so over the painting and since we were already on the fun train, I decided to do do the same for the drawers. Decoupage. Yep, you read that right. I've never done it before but after watching an episode of "Flea Market Flip" I got brave again. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought some "burlap" print paper. I needed something that I was not really going to need to match up the edges too much since it was my first time. I ended up using 10 sheets on both drawers (I messed up a lot). For it being my first time I don't think I did too bad. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Using a foam brush I put a little bit of Mod-Podge on the drawer and then brushed a little on the back of the paper. I put the paper down on the drawer smoothed it out with an old membership card and then brushed another layer of glue on top. I just kept repeating and I also made sure to cut the pieces before I put them down. </div>

Well hello there guys! I am back and happy to announce that this semester is over and finished it off with two A's and one B. Now let's celebrate. Grab some pop corn and junk food because it's going to be a long one.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I finished this project I am about to share with you guys a couple of months ago but I just never posted it and also I wanted to see how it was going to hold up. You'll see why in a minute.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When my boyfriend and I moved from Texas to Ohio all we had as far as furniture was a blow up mattress and well that was about it. That thing served as our bed, couch and dining table. Sometimes all at once. Anyway, when I finally got around to getting us a dining room table, the process took a lot longer than I expected. All of them were huge tables, cheap little dinettes or just something weird. Then it happened, the perfect size table and chairs for the space we had. So I bought it for $70 bucks..one table, an extension leaf (which I later turned into a bench) and 5 chairs. Yeah it was a little pricey but I got tired of eating on the dang blow up mattress.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's what it looked like when I got it. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW2nwOz38Li6CCT03guDiZuCQmRQx059yMADAxvbVleTQtrzM7QloYoy3rp0hstRX1saMpFUx9meKGx3vUO4c1bxOI9CEtR1Xg6Bu82VUN1SDEqhaC7jACGYf_QXo6GflCufNgql_jjdsE/s1600/tbl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW2nwOz38Li6CCT03guDiZuCQmRQx059yMADAxvbVleTQtrzM7QloYoy3rp0hstRX1saMpFUx9meKGx3vUO4c1bxOI9CEtR1Xg6Bu82VUN1SDEqhaC7jACGYf_QXo6GflCufNgql_jjdsE/s1600/tbl.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSZMN4YbZOa2yfbiQIQ-DIp0mNuo37XyjCfeVWtdjJs4C1mICsUnOP5FgLoPil_hfBQPpiYnVeLZAo7UW37byHTVq3e_PSpNWtL9CvKDFETyJoNFictyLA2U1YzWqqvtj_eYYTdXbQ17_R/s1600/tbl2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSZMN4YbZOa2yfbiQIQ-DIp0mNuo37XyjCfeVWtdjJs4C1mICsUnOP5FgLoPil_hfBQPpiYnVeLZAo7UW37byHTVq3e_PSpNWtL9CvKDFETyJoNFictyLA2U1YzWqqvtj_eYYTdXbQ17_R/s1600/tbl2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So there it sat for months! I am serious. Getting used to life in Ohio, school and family this thing was left forgotten. I knew exactly what I wanted to do to it, yep, you guessed it, stain the top and paint the rest. The thing is the freakin' top is LAMINATE. <span style="font-size: x-small;">*begin dry heaving now*</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8-G7snkbH6ZIV9R8hAMgXPI515nXkYSxl_OLD6m2UCboLy66qRDxNQH8w8TqMr29Nf_-26a2u_auq97eSXQpCKDUWMcwETVWglUb4KKm5eZ2jbfnPc0jbJzoVQCYeiu7qgYfBs94m0lUX/s1600/tbl4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8-G7snkbH6ZIV9R8hAMgXPI515nXkYSxl_OLD6m2UCboLy66qRDxNQH8w8TqMr29Nf_-26a2u_auq97eSXQpCKDUWMcwETVWglUb4KKm5eZ2jbfnPc0jbJzoVQCYeiu7qgYfBs94m0lUX/s1600/tbl4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I went on Pinterest/ Google for help and got tons of ideas:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. Replace with an old door and put glass on top of it. Nope, couldn't find an old door for a reasonable price. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Replace with wooden planks of some sort. Nope, really not that handy or crafty.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. Just paint the whole thing. Nope, I was very adamant that I was going to stain the top. That's my idea and I am sticking to it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4. Glue paint stirrers on top of it and stain. Voila! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4 is the lucky number but of course its never that easy. I had a paint stirrer laying around from some paint that I had bought and I set it on top of the table. Immediately I realized that I needed to go back to the drawing board. The paint stirrers were just so thick and I was going to need like a saw of some sort to cut through all of them and it was a lot more work than I was willing to do. So one day walking through Wal-Mart it hit me!!!!</div>

Technically they are made of wood too and I am just going to go ahead and say it. This takes a bit of time but it is seriously so inexpensive and to me, personally I loved the effect I got at the end. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I just started placing the popsicle sticks on the table and went from there. I started laying them down randomly, subway-ish tiled, some type of design and you name it. I finally decided to just have them going all kinds of ways. I also decided that the length of them was too long for my taste and went ahead and measured them all to 3 inches with a regular tape measure.</div>

I scored all of them in the box with just a regular pencil. I did not now how many I was going to end up needing (oh you have so much to learn little one) and hours of Netflix later I had scored and cut all of them. I cut them with a big pair of scissors I found in the hardware section of Walmart for a couple of bucks. They cut very easy too.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At first I decided on this pattern and started placing them down on what I thought was the center. I did measure even though it does not look like it in the angle of the picture.</div>

And as you can tell, this is where it happened. I was sitting down doing thing and wasn't even noticing that I was totally off center going all kinds of ways. I had to pop every single one of these suckers off with a screw driver and a hammer (this glue is no joke), sand down the leftover glue and start all over. *hysterically laughing and dry heaving all at the same time*</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My sanity, one day later and another box of popsicle sticks since I had to throw away most of the ones I popped off, the table was completely covered. I just went over the middle part where it I supposed to separate but I knew I was never going to use it for that. Especially since I made that bench out of the leaf. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There was a lot of gaps between many of the sticks, so clearly not all popsicle sticks/measurements are made equal. I filled it with wood filler and it looked perfect. Since the table is oval I had some pieces that did stick out quite a bit so all I did was got a tiny little hand saw from Walmart and used that to saw off the pokey edges. I went back and sanded them to get them smooth.</div>

This is Bere coming out of the mountain of school work she's been hiding under. <br />
I have not been posting and yet again I feel like the worst blogger in blogging history. But I do have a good excuse...nursing school preparations are in full bloom and on top of that this current semester is putting up a darn good fight. Can someone remind me why I decided to take statistics online? So that on top of background checks, physicals blood work and basically signing my first born away (totally kidding!) I have not been able to do much of ANYTHING. <br />
There are tons of stuff still coming up and I can't wait to get back to it. There is this desk that needs my loving touch and a whole much more stuff to share. I want to start doing a bit of weekend getaway adventures because the Mr. and I love to just get up and go when we have a free weekend. I also want to start sharing some outfit posts for the every day person like me. I have been getting asked a lot lately where I get some of the stuff I am wearing so I thought why not share it here too. What do you guys think? <br />
<br />
I can't wait to start being more active on this. I hope yall are still here with me and are enjoying what I have to share so far. See you soon. P.s. If you want to follow me on Instagram I am pretty active on there: @lvlybere<br />

Hello world! Greetings from the worst blogger in blogger history. I am still winding down from the holidays in Texas, moving to another apt., school and adjusting to the snow (I totally underestimated the winter in the north) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyway, sorry I went off on a tangent there. So we moved into a slightly bigger apartment and you know when you move you realize how much stuff *junk* you really have. Well that is what happened. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found the extension leaf to our dining room table in the attic and it was headed straight for the trash since we were never going to use it. As I was driving it to the new place I realized we needed a bit extra seating since we were going to have people over for the Superbowl and decided I was going to make some type of bench. Keep reading to find out how I did it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did not get a picture of the underside but this is what it looked like when I started. It was a perfect size too, it was 18 in. x 38in.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMPcSNh93Csh6LTG-j0ntn5zloR0ojcQNH1pmadNbQurBvEdLxNQJaKfNJF4R5zDr3LC69AreHfWJrLzs5CEYIQCf5_veJT2i5v6FmiBylftQ0C1milsiOH1m0KWwwMLz4BU_fgciXtSKt/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMPcSNh93Csh6LTG-j0ntn5zloR0ojcQNH1pmadNbQurBvEdLxNQJaKfNJF4R5zDr3LC69AreHfWJrLzs5CEYIQCf5_veJT2i5v6FmiBylftQ0C1milsiOH1m0KWwwMLz4BU_fgciXtSKt/s1600/10.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I unscrewed the "lip" thing it had on the underside, you know the thing that let's it blend with the rest of the table. Also, I removed some staples it had sticking out and the plastic little pegs that stick out of the side. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj35EyuvYah-PqItaTlaeJZVec7MPaIQtMS8tmeqqqcvJQp2ljVt95TxeKCh-Q6_bEV90TKIBbktHxKya_OBe7e9HTnNjZt4iYaCX4zt_zQ0AIRowzchFIWDeLdfZRg_zwDwECpAbXCIbL7/s1600/15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj35EyuvYah-PqItaTlaeJZVec7MPaIQtMS8tmeqqqcvJQp2ljVt95TxeKCh-Q6_bEV90TKIBbktHxKya_OBe7e9HTnNjZt4iYaCX4zt_zQ0AIRowzchFIWDeLdfZRg_zwDwECpAbXCIbL7/s1600/15.jpg" height="179" width="320" /></a></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBRhfRiYqeSqLhPXbxoAzMy3YVe2EKiWCZ7C-sre0lJQSPTgnFy3K6WjnZvqDgyrd9A2lv4f7IL9Nm2C5bFbF5ag2PVGg_APXIALQVFEj8PLIfcNUubKQnNJzXmARmwgAA1Q15iEbVlgOg/s1600/14.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBRhfRiYqeSqLhPXbxoAzMy3YVe2EKiWCZ7C-sre0lJQSPTgnFy3K6WjnZvqDgyrd9A2lv4f7IL9Nm2C5bFbF5ag2PVGg_APXIALQVFEj8PLIfcNUubKQnNJzXmARmwgAA1Q15iEbVlgOg/s1600/14.jpg" height="179" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I took a trip to Hobby Lobby armed with my 40 % off coupon and went to work. I bought 3 inch foam, 1 yard of fabric for $9.00 and 3 packs or upholstery tacks for about $1.50 each. Foam was 30 % off that day so to my surprise the $9.00 fabric was the most expensive part * start happy dance now* </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have never "made" a piece of upholstered furniture before but I had a general idea and went for it. I did read that some type of serrated knife works best for cutting foam so I used my big bread knife and it worked PERFECT!. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZeKiODwLcAWe6fVMvIZCAjwcFH4NZYi6p-rk7eiGDqLf3QDqsT0lKhtO-1M_3VBv838-TpNmftrb_bbHL8jJ18PEPsKDKUo6ObQZWodcSFIMx4Mb_df2ioXOR2CYQzORRaAiNsp2G-Vjk/s1600/12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZeKiODwLcAWe6fVMvIZCAjwcFH4NZYi6p-rk7eiGDqLf3QDqsT0lKhtO-1M_3VBv838-TpNmftrb_bbHL8jJ18PEPsKDKUo6ObQZWodcSFIMx4Mb_df2ioXOR2CYQzORRaAiNsp2G-Vjk/s1600/12.jpg" height="179" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After I arranged the pieces I took them outside to spray them. The spray adhesive did not get every where and I had pretty good control over it but just in case. I sprayed the wood itself and I sprayed the two foam pieces as well as the section where they connect. I waited until it got tacky (however long it took me to bring the pieces back inside) and then just connected the pieces. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7OHMkNd2DHR9QhpL7xlXDpKQ8UsjMhNu8eDWjHJMDg_LqEGAtvVxETuuaJcvRT0bXSd6SGjgRnHhnoEoHaQEnkwqUkU5PMBbrVYqAZ2AC32oXwL5XXSjHXNLhF9vvDAKeu8UlfIkuX7eh/s1600/96.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7OHMkNd2DHR9QhpL7xlXDpKQ8UsjMhNu8eDWjHJMDg_LqEGAtvVxETuuaJcvRT0bXSd6SGjgRnHhnoEoHaQEnkwqUkU5PMBbrVYqAZ2AC32oXwL5XXSjHXNLhF9vvDAKeu8UlfIkuX7eh/s1600/96.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I flipped the entire thing over on the foam side and let gravity and the weight of leaf do the rest. I don't know if this helps but remember we are just going for it. After about 5 minutes I covered the entire thing in batting and stapled my life away.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfaVD_z-XXRBX87MdYbr_b5nrSfbX7XK1XNFmGJVqV8htf83sZkLri17Sy5-7naqjFuWrCmDrEcd6lv8AwqzHXvqlOnmDt8jv8GZShNETS3DTNGfKlJUsoFUIt90_Tktujh_5498dly2Ns/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfaVD_z-XXRBX87MdYbr_b5nrSfbX7XK1XNFmGJVqV8htf83sZkLri17Sy5-7naqjFuWrCmDrEcd6lv8AwqzHXvqlOnmDt8jv8GZShNETS3DTNGfKlJUsoFUIt90_Tktujh_5498dly2Ns/s1600/8.jpg" height="179" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made sure to pull it really tight. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghM_xIWKUb5ruvzdtMRhyGcyvcWIKUHdZCHdbCDPryJrhUArgryiggOYd8h_cBAygc8r5UDe5OhpOPIylYtpCmjRkwgSVNhntCl2tJb8CwLS5gdKYjGCvP06PbFA1nGLeas3FKNCbzUDu9/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghM_xIWKUb5ruvzdtMRhyGcyvcWIKUHdZCHdbCDPryJrhUArgryiggOYd8h_cBAygc8r5UDe5OhpOPIylYtpCmjRkwgSVNhntCl2tJb8CwLS5gdKYjGCvP06PbFA1nGLeas3FKNCbzUDu9/s1600/9.jpg" height="179" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now since I only bought 1 yard of fabric I knew I was going to be cutting it close but I wanted it to be tight. As you can see I barely had enough at the ends but on the other two sides I had more than enough. I pulled it super tight and did a double staple line to make sure I didn't have any loose fabric showing on the bottom and to make sure it stays.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcKOtep0redtTVnhtl-ffwQ0-tzrWu8-sFP0qigFxbeiIUVTT5NaPCq6SVjgcdg4JBggxGm_7s8CAQYXwEpCzyju1F2CDKtrn9394-YPGNRsfHfNZ9Wxs8TKSLK7YuREFQ_Y0N-Rot5pTA/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcKOtep0redtTVnhtl-ffwQ0-tzrWu8-sFP0qigFxbeiIUVTT5NaPCq6SVjgcdg4JBggxGm_7s8CAQYXwEpCzyju1F2CDKtrn9394-YPGNRsfHfNZ9Wxs8TKSLK7YuREFQ_Y0N-Rot5pTA/s1600/6.jpg" height="179" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pulling and the stapling is where the "fun" is. The second line of stapling is much easier since everything is in place already all I had to do was go over it . Keep pliers handy because trust me you are going to need them.</div>

I bought 14 inch legs at Lowe's for about $4 each. Sure there are cheaper ones but there caught my eye immediately. The mounting plates are about $1.50 and they are in the same section as the legs. All you do is screw them in where you want them. It is your preference but I made the mistake of getting angled ones at first and it did not look right at all. I ended up going back and getting straight ones. </div>

I stained the legs with some leftover Minwax stain in "Provincial." The picture does not do it justice (note to self invest in good camera) but the legs are dark but not too dark. It's perfect for our space. </div>

The other day I was at Wal-Mart just rolling down the isles wasting time. Don't judge me it's one of my hobbies. I was not planning to get anything to DIY I just wanted to see what I could find. I found this little key holder wood sign thing, it was $3 so I figured why not. Our keys where just being thrown in the corner of a bookshelf and seriously making me itch and home with me it went!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is what the little wooden key holder looks like. You can find it in the arts and crafts section of Wal-Mart and you cant beat the $3 price.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg99ANYT6ThSihl4zDl6pfF1btOyWBGzfNwGKVEfX9Eb6Uxh8dMT9-qdQb7SpWit39W4RRzfvuQvN6Lvr-uNWegIQ86fXiGfARczTwVzRmDU5etQbn0RjV9AHIn_GzKjMYh22vsaeCNLqeO/s1600/20141208_191210.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg99ANYT6ThSihl4zDl6pfF1btOyWBGzfNwGKVEfX9Eb6Uxh8dMT9-qdQb7SpWit39W4RRzfvuQvN6Lvr-uNWegIQ86fXiGfARczTwVzRmDU5etQbn0RjV9AHIn_GzKjMYh22vsaeCNLqeO/s1600/20141208_191210.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I knew that I didn't want to paint it. I wanted to keep with the natural/rustic theme we kind of have going on (who am I kidding I am a sucker for stained wood) so I stained it with some leftover stain I had laying around from Minwax in the shade Provincial. You can get these mini cans for about $5 bucks at your home improvement store.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I didn't take a picture of the process *worst blogger ever* but basically what I did was got an old rag, dipped in the stain and did one coat on the wood sign front and back. Since it's in cursive there is a lot of nooks and crannies in the sign and to get to those I got a q-tip, dipped it in stain and pressed it against the spaces I could not reach with my finger. I did not sand it or seal it since it was pretty smooth already and it is just basically going to stay on the wall as a permanent fixture ha!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Isn't it pretty! Simple and cheap, this seriously took me like 10 minutes and just left it overnight to dry. I hope you guys liked it. Come back soon.</div>

Excuse my absence but the holidays are upon us and that means family time. The thing is I am on one end of the country and our families are on the other and we wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. We had not seen them in 6 months!<br />
<br />
The Mr. and I just did a cross country trip from Ohio to Texas and back for the Thanksgiving holiday and after being stuck in a car for about 19 hours each way, I thought I would share some things that helped us keep our sanity along the way since we drove it straight. <br />
<br />
Enjoy!<br />
<br />
1. Probably the most important one. Always have a buddy. We could not have done a straight 19 hours alone. When we moved up to Ohio it took us 3 days to get up here since we were in different vehicles hauling all our stuff.<br />
<br />
2. Trivia games on your mobile device are a fun way to pass time. It keeps the passenger doing something if you are not sleepy and the driver with eyes on the road and talking to stay awake. It was also a good bonding experience for us both.<br />
<br />
3. We found that 4 hour drive times each at a time was the magic number to switch places.<br />
<br />
4. We have a Spotify subscription, but it does not go on for 19 hours straight so carry your favorite CD's (yes we still use them) and abuse the heck out of the "seek" button in you car. I find the constant change in stations keeps me awake. <br />
<br />
5. If you need to pull over for gas, try to go to gas stations that are on the exit side of the intestate so you can hop on and off. It can get a little confusing going to gas stations on the opposite side and then try to find your way back across (trust me).<br />
<br />
6. If you feel your belly button gnawing at your backbone around 10 pm -ish ....STOP... do not wait until after that because believe it or not, a lot of places are not open 24 hours. We made that mistake and found ourselves desperately looking for food for 30 min straight and we finally settled for a truck stop subway. Please do no stop at a truck stop subway. <br />
<br />
7. Always carry napkins in your car because accidents do happen.<br />
<br />
8. You get a 5 mile leeway before you get pulled over for speeding just f.y.I.<br />
<br />
9. Carry some vitamin C pills and hand sanitizer, trust us this one because we are both sick right now. That is a lot of states to cover and a lot of gas station restrooms and tuck stops. Keep your immune system up my dears. <br />
<br />
10. AAAAnd finally....................Sunflower seeds! yes people that's right. These salty little things are a life saver. Pop one at a time in your mouth and welcome to wide awake land. I tested it on this trip and it totally works, you are constantly doing something and you still have your eyes and attention on the road. My mom's boyfriend is a truck driver and gave me the tip and I owe him big time. <br />
<br />
This is what we did to help us on our trip to and from so it might not be for everyone. It was a little exhausting but it was a lot cheaper than flying and dealing with the holiday time at the airports and having to rent a car to see all our family.<br />
<br />
Do you have any tips for long road trips? We are going back in December and would love to hear from you. Thank you for stopping by.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17381601364959161156noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643435848239985879.post-1412932082351949902014-11-09T14:25:00.000-08:002014-11-09T14:28:16.223-08:00Grocery Bag Organization<div style="text-align: center;">
I can be a little OCD sometimes...just sometimes.. ok maybe all the time who am I kidding. I used to be one of <em>those</em> people a long time ago that shoved all of the grocery bags in one bag. Yes it's fast but I quickly realized that it's so messy in a way and it just takes up so much room in the closet or where ever it is that you store them and if that works for you then keep doing what works but if you want to know how I keep my grocery bags (any plastic bag really) organized, keep reading!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<em></em> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmYwin6mLUnWoGzd7919EbvReinoVRMIcGPoHyiqiBtafODPlLOssr0bEG9af8ypDMRum4mhT1swnSD45jDA2jtijNfb5eyBl1Hc3ZCY7Mdv5vgjT6DJJWXlpxgvb6gcPrXYwYW6ncdrtd/s1600/20141109_154021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmYwin6mLUnWoGzd7919EbvReinoVRMIcGPoHyiqiBtafODPlLOssr0bEG9af8ypDMRum4mhT1swnSD45jDA2jtijNfb5eyBl1Hc3ZCY7Mdv5vgjT6DJJWXlpxgvb6gcPrXYwYW6ncdrtd/s1600/20141109_154021.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnCMDRsqhqFYg_DEBqhtcbWjmbC-H5Wher_q7e1gCQsGK00YwUz2-2XHTY9nNA1N5XnxR5dwCIvfEOXKqQxg5YCd_JZQRhKJ9-y5nbkhfSW1-pZradMzwleKmzyuen42IMUIFJZ5U56Jv2/s1600/20141109_163253.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnCMDRsqhqFYg_DEBqhtcbWjmbC-H5Wher_q7e1gCQsGK00YwUz2-2XHTY9nNA1N5XnxR5dwCIvfEOXKqQxg5YCd_JZQRhKJ9-y5nbkhfSW1-pZradMzwleKmzyuen42IMUIFJZ5U56Jv2/s1600/20141109_163253.jpg" height="320" style="cursor: move;" unselectable="on" width="180" /></a></div>

^This makes me itch ^This makes me happy </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've been folding my plastic bags for years now and let me tell you it makes my life a little easier. I don't have to look for the bags because I know exactly where they are and I don't have to wrestle with them trying to separate the bag I need or what ever it is they do when they are all shoved in one bag. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1. After I finish putting away the groceries I put the bags that I want to keep to the side. I don't keep the ones that are all wet or have holes in them and they end up looking like this.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">MUST.FOLD.QUICKLY!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2. Open the bag and set it flat on the counter or where ever you are going to fold them.</div>

<br />
I know this seems like a lot but it seriously took me 4-5 seconds to fold one bag. It just makes my life a little more organized and after I am done folding them I just throw them into a little basket I bought at the dollar store. When people come over and see what I do to the bags they give me a weird look but once they see how easy it is they cross over to the OCD side. Conquering the world one bag at a time ha!<br />
<br />
How do you store your plastic bags? Hope you enjoyed and thank you for stopping by.<br />

Hey ya'll! Sorry I've been M.I.A lately. This cold and rainy Ohio weather makes it very difficult to get off the couch and do anything but be under the covers dry and warm. I never thought I would say this but Oh. My. Gosh. I miss the inappropriately hot and humid Texas weather. It snowed here on Halloween...SNOWED!!! seriously?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Our apartment was seriously starting to look like a thrift store furniture section with nothing but mismatched random pieces of furniture, talk about 50 shades of wood. So I had enough and decided to dust off my creative hat and get on with it. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Our cable box was just sitting on the carpet, making me itch and getting on my last nerves. I found this little beauty a couple of months ago and I loved it, especially because it was $9.00 and the perfect size for our itty bitty space. </div>

And the ugly duckling is no more! I stained the tops with Jacobean like the dresser but I am guessing it looks darker because it's a different kind of wood. I only did one coat of stain because it was definitely dark enough for me. </div>

If it was up to the boyfriend we would still be sleeping on a blow up mattress with no type of accessories anywhere. I really did feel like we needed something on the wall so I was a woman on a mission. <br />
<br />
I wanted to get really creative and do something with some type of re-purposed window with some type of pretty quote on it. After failed efforts to finding an old window and not finding the size that I wanted for our small bedroom, I refused to give up hope. I went to where else, the land of forgotten goodies also known as the thrift store. I found this picture frame in the loveliest shade of lime green. It had a drawing of a peach so I just removed the backing and the drawing itself because I fell in love with the fame and it was the perfect size.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtKb0jb79Rw9Zjgg-U6b8mAzCr5FkKGAcVG1mJCdWL8bdWjKuikriBoc7c_5mGvUPbdujBI7SshsmsR-cQYdNrBanapcOOii8oeesaGPu9hmqsUD7ejvxerV9UIPHtQZ7jrAX9Plvr2eu1/s1600/20141009_162555.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtKb0jb79Rw9Zjgg-U6b8mAzCr5FkKGAcVG1mJCdWL8bdWjKuikriBoc7c_5mGvUPbdujBI7SshsmsR-cQYdNrBanapcOOii8oeesaGPu9hmqsUD7ejvxerV9UIPHtQZ7jrAX9Plvr2eu1/s1600/20141009_162555.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I printed out the quote that I wanted, he and I are always telling each other "love you more" I believe I used font size 160 and made it bold. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They have these really cool markers for glass at Hobby Lobby and I am sure at every other arts and crafts store. I got it for $3. Now there are two kinds: one kind that you have to put in the oven to cure it or something but I just got the regular one since I could not put my frame in the oven. With my luck I would burn the apartment down. I got some cheap little brushes and some acrylic pain in "white wash"</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I didn't take any pictures of the process because honestly I did not think it would turn out so great. I cut up the letters and taped them to the FRONT of the frame, I wanted to keep the glossiness of the glass. After they were all taped up and in place, all I did was trace the letters carefully and filled them in with the marker. If you mess up you can wipe it off with your finger quite easily. It kind of feels like dry erase markers before it dries completely. </div>

I wanted to tone down the lovely shade of lime green a bit so I started sanding it down. This paint just would not come off!!!! So I left it alone for a couple of days and it kind of grew on me. I just went over it with white paint diluted in a little bit of water to give it a "white wash" effect. I have never done this before so I am pretty surprised.</div>

We packed up our cars and took off! Once we got here we lived in the shadiest hotel EVER! Let me describe that for you real quick. Imagine a dark hallway with a giant hole in the middle of the hallway that is basically just being "covered" by the carpet. You finally find your room number only to realize that its written in permanent marker on the wallpaper wall. Ah! good times.<br />
<br />
Any who, when I finally found us an apartment all we had was a blow up mattress and a TV (priorities) so off to the thrift store I went. I found this little baby at the local thrift store for $40 bucks but it didn't fit in my little car. So I went back prepared and to my happy surprise it was on sale for 20 bucks!!!!! My lucky day for sure. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was very scared about taking this on. My very first adventure of DIY/painting furniture was HORRIBLE. I bit off more than a could chew and painted a gigantic dining room table the perfect shade of dirt brown. But we have grown since then and decided to give it another try. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After hours of searching Pinterest (where else) I found this little number for inspiration. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l-o32yiWLeg/VECVWk-S_QI/AAAAAAAAA7E/2XcvZEkDjhQ/s1600/Screenshot_2014-10-07-21-08-19.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l-o32yiWLeg/VECVWk-S_QI/AAAAAAAAA7E/2XcvZEkDjhQ/s1600/Screenshot_2014-10-07-21-08-19.png" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I removed the drawers, hardware and gave her a good little cleaning and a quick little sanding. I focused mainly on the top and drawers because the sides where some type of particle board.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_SN25lpe1Hi61AgvEmfGyu-53Tn5BlVlQAZQrQHEIMYfQcYnTEFJKZMDVD3NcAN58DfMIZ9PPbqdfnij-YFv3aib93EGPJF2GoxzFRWmXo3uKya0QeWvxiqspZgyOzzMNANzLqeg8OHZe/s1600/20141008_123224.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_SN25lpe1Hi61AgvEmfGyu-53Tn5BlVlQAZQrQHEIMYfQcYnTEFJKZMDVD3NcAN58DfMIZ9PPbqdfnij-YFv3aib93EGPJF2GoxzFRWmXo3uKya0QeWvxiqspZgyOzzMNANzLqeg8OHZe/s1600/20141008_123224.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now, technically you're not supposed to use white primer for black paint jobs but I had it handy and went with it. This was after two coats of primer.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFfov2I4aprNWsMpyKl1b0eXsD-VkseknobqrfshyphenhyphenbGTc72dolFxLLnaWS_Oomff2gEU_VCXPxiyGo8BTzuHxTV32-aV2PlldADfTnf9I68tDG4fsVFYF8E0v0RVi_2By5eXBHbm6Ht2Z2/s1600/20141008_125747.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFfov2I4aprNWsMpyKl1b0eXsD-VkseknobqrfshyphenhyphenbGTc72dolFxLLnaWS_Oomff2gEU_VCXPxiyGo8BTzuHxTV32-aV2PlldADfTnf9I68tDG4fsVFYF8E0v0RVi_2By5eXBHbm6Ht2Z2/s1600/20141008_125747.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then the first coat of paint. I used Glidden Deep Onyx in satin.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the drawers I originally wanted to go with Minwax Jacobean but I was at Ace Hardware and saw that they were having a sale on their stains and they also had Jacobean, so I decided to just get it.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Three coats of paint and stain TADAH!!!!!! I kept the same hardware on the top drawer and went with a similar color for these bin pulls. I sealed it with two coats of Polycrylic in clear satin. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So this is my first blog post!! I write this as I watch football with a beer in my hand. I don't know if anyone will ever see this blog or read this.....but after years and years of stalking my favorite bloggers and wishing I was on the other side of the screen I finally did it. My own little spot on the world wide web. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started this blog as a creative outlet. It's just my amazing boyfriend, my loving dog and myself. All of us are fellow Texans taking on a new adventure, halfway across the country in northwest Ohio. I hope you stay a while. You're in for a hell of a ride!</div>
